I have spouted about them, but to be fair, you & a few others where off breaking laws 190/50 & 120/70 K1200S -- Nige, BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue
Well, I'm not sure about a lardybus like the BMW, but I have a new favourite sports tyre - the Dunlop Qualifier RR. Fabulously grippy wet or dry, perfect steering characteristics, and plenty of mileage left after 2000 hooligan miles.
The sport2's are just about doing 2000 miles, granted they get the shit hammered out of them, but nowhere near what you will have done to yours... -- Nige, BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue
Having see both of you ride I'd guarantee you won't get the same mileage out of a tyre as Champ does. You rag the bike everywhere you can, in particular when you're accelerating away from slower speeds whereas he tends to go a lot easier on the gas then once the speed is up there he just maintains it without going for much higher speeds between corners. I really like the Qualifier RRs and for fast road riding they're better than anything I've ridden on before. I had them on the bike for last years Manx and nothing went past me on the mountain section and the new ones were warmed up and worn almost to the edges within 10 miles of them being fitted. Ok, I highsided the bike and that probably wouldn't have happened on a harder compound tyre (1) but shit happens and I've said from the start that it was my fault and I'm not blaming tyres, damp, oil, sabotage or **** all else. (1) A harder tyre would still have slid but it wouldn't have grabbed as viciously when it did get hold and the worst case would probably have been a low-side slide up the car park.

Me too. I just got 5000 miles out of a rear BT015 on the GSXR and the front is still going strong. This is a mix of steady motorway and short 100 mile blasts ridden in a similar style to Andy describes of you. I may not be a quick as you and Bonwick, but you know I don't hang around. It was only the trackday at Donington that finally finished it off.
These tyres feel bloody great after the last set of fucked ones! Nice feeling. -- Nige, BMW K1200S Range Rover Vogue
