0 weight oil ?

    noticed some hi tech synthetic oils now rated as 0/50.
    would 0 be like water ? Anyone used these in bikes ?

    They can invent as many different multigrades as they like. The oil
    lubes the engine, it's not a fad. Use the ones that the manufacturer
    recommends. With my limited knowledge of oils I'd say a 0 weight oil
    would be ideal for running in your motorbike during winter in Antarctica.

    Yes they recommend that for Australian conditions where ambient starting
    temperatures are between 5C and 50C you probably need a 20W-50 and if
    you're anywhere where a 0W rating is required for cold weather starting
    good luck because you'll probably be turning the engine by hand. :)

    Assumedly it just hovers in your crankcase.
