    It certainly does, ta.

Tosspots's comment about bullets in flight vs in soft target suddenly
made sense as well when I remembered that they only really tumble in
    denser media than air.

That's it, TOG. You keep hammering away at the 'Des is trolling' angle,
even though it's obvious to anyone whose IQ is above room temperature
that I haven't posted a single troll since I came back in April.

Heh. You _do_ know that I'm laughing at you, don't you? Oh wait, you
won't answer this, just to 'annoy' me.

  8. There surely is no reason why it could not be used to describe a style
of effect rather than be exclusively used for a method of manufacture.
The matter of name and effect is commonplace when describing military
ordinance in any event so why not in this context? Who is it who is
    frightened of semantics?

    You fuckwit.

Mind you, I recently realised I'd been saying "Thank you four
times"[1] instead of "many times". Not that anyone ever noticed, or
maybe they'd been taking me literally...

    [1] Merci vier mal.

Heh. Mind you, a friend of mine could never figure out why French
people said "in winter" when they were ready to leave.

"En hiver" and "On y va"

Superfluous 'e', and not strictly phonetically, but close enough. For
Champ's benefit, it's "Thanks many times". C/w Muchos Gracias, Molte
    Grazie, Merci Beaucoup etc.

In CH they just make it their own by substituting Merci for Danke.
I've even heard "Merci beaucoup viel mal" on occasion.
