Do you mean his 30 year old material, when viewed now, is no longer
funny, or Connolly himself isn't funny now?

The latter is true. The former true in parts. Hopefully we have moved on
a little from toilet humour. The "up to his knees in pavement" sketch
    stands though.

  3. If the same poll was held 30 years ago I'd have certainly put him at the
top, having just returned from a live gig during which I was utterly
    helpless with laughter.

My tastes have changed anyway, and if I went to that same gig now I
probably wouldn't find it as funny.

Now... well his comedy is all sort of in the same vein as it always was,
but from what I've seen of his audiences on taped tours, a lot of them
are hoping to get some of that same experience and apparently not
getting it. (Bear in mind I saw him entertaining a Glasgow audience who
shared similar backgrounds and experiences as him and every jibe, jab,
jollity and jape rang dozens of cultural bells.) Of course, much of the
video may be cut and for all I know, maybe he is just as funny live now
as then, but I don't think it's the case.

Her humour seems to be based on "oh I've said something crude, isn't that
funny". Mostly I only see her on QI these days, and my opinion hasn't
    changed.

Generally, I'm not amused by female comics and even less so when they throw
in swear words (in desperation), but Jo Brand is one of the few I actually
like. Nothing is "forced" and I think that's what make a good comic
    (irrelevant of species).

She's nowhere near as bad as the rest of the other women (so-called) comics
though. They're so bad, I can't even remember their names.

Lucy Porter's not bad, although when you see her on TV she's never
    funny.

Don't know her (well I don't remember the name) but that
Ronah/Rona/Rhona/however you spell the ****'s name Cameron tart, now she's
just totally unfunny, like the majority of female comics.
