I don't actually do much hooning around town at the moment, as I
really can't be arsed commuting on a sportsbike.
Really? In what way - I think it'd be perfect, and also a useful
b-roads tool for the weekend. The Suzuki deal also lets you get up to
a K's worth of accessories on the 0% deal, so I'd also get the bar
guards, bash plate and exhaust guard, and it's still only cost about
130 quid/month. I pay more than that for my monthly train ticket, so
    it's readily affordable.
yup - the SM version has USD forks - completely different set-up to
    the "off road" version.

Sure, it'd be great for commuting - but probably much more than you need
*just* for commuting. It'd also be great on B-roads, but isn't that what a
Z1000 is for? [I've never actually ridden a Z1000, so could be talking out
    of my arse]
That's a bit of an arse. One of the factors weighing in favour of keeping
the CCM is some fanciful notion that I'll take it off-road at some point -
which is just a straight wheel swap and play around with the suspension
    settings

"you meet the nicest people on a Honda"
    it wouldn't suit you.

I've got an ugly 7R, that'd be more your scene.

I didn't realise that darsy was taking *that* amount of mind-altering
    substances..

I can think of better commuter bikes.... Probably not as much fun,
granted, but I suppose it depends on your commute. If you're constantly
filtering, inching through jams, etc, it'll just piss you off. In
reasonably free-flowing traffic, thought, I reckon it'd be a hoot.

But four grand for a commuter.....

    you're absolutely correct.

That said, I'm off to the Corney and Barrow in the LSE building in 30
    minutes, so you never know.

TOG@toil, , scribbled on the back of a
    napkin:
A proper Supermoto (like a Husky) is an absolute hoot to commute on, at
least if you're just commuting through London. Very narrow, a lot of
power for the weight, changes direction faster than a Jack Russell on
    speed.

Downside is that you're changing oil and filter all the time and you
simply can't ride them in 'normal' mode. At least the throttle on my
SM610 used to have two settings only - full-on stupid mode and closed.

Mind ewe, something like that would be an absolute hoot around here...

The Letchworth branch seem pretty good. This probably won't be of any
help at all but it gives an idea that they might not be cunts from top
    to bottom of the company.

I knew someone who had one of those on his DT125R.

Went rather well for what it was.

Had my Dad not made me sell it[1], I'd have done it. I put one on my
TS50[2] and got 70mph out of it.

[1] Just passed my driving test and "there's not enough room for both".

[2] Along with a full Fresco, racing reeds, up-jet, yada, yada.
[3] The novelty of driving was strong and the bugger sold my bike
without my knowledge but before it went, I took it out and I remember
how much more fun it was to ride than drive :(

As bad as a pure sprots bike?

My interest is that I've recently been toying withthe idea of
replacing the TL with one of those. I was going to get a Speed Four
but just possibly I'd get bored with the smaller engine.

What I actually want is something with the weight and riding position
of my old FZR 600, but capable of taking modern tyres and with more
    power and less plastic.
