1400miles over the weekend

Went over to a mates gaff in Brittany at the weekend (west of Rennes).

Bored with the Portsmouth->Cherbourg/Caen/St Malo crossings, so opted for
Dover Calais.

Stopped in Dover on Thursday to have a look around.... strange pubs in
strange places...

earlish ferry and a a long blast to Brittany varying the RN and A roads
*very* wet though. Got flashed by mobile camera unit near Dinan ....
anyone know if the systems have been linked yet ? (not clear on tinterweb).

Headed back Sunday, roads from Tancerville onwards clear and sunny.
Stopped in St Omer..... pretty town, came back Monday mixing Mway and A
roads.

2 up on the XJR, fuel from Calais->Brittany (return) costs less than the
diff between the short ferry and the long ferrys. Worth the couple of
extra stop overs. Will do that trip again.

We did this for the 2001 French Trip. Never again.

No you didn't, that was only to Bayeaux, thats not Brittany.

And part of what we did was that run, lots of non Mway stuff.
Its the bit from Caen to Loudeac I hate.
