A 180mph breeze nearly takes the skin off the back of your hand.
I'm sure there are going to be some serious injuries from these
    new-generation hand driers. :)

A chinese restaurant in Sheffield has one. You know how Clarkson's face goes
when he drives an open top car on Top Gear? That's what the back of your
    hand looks like.

And they piss all over the Dyson Airblade - feel like there's about 20x as
much air coming out of them.

Hum. They have them in one of the shopping centres in Cambridge. I
    wasn't over impressed, TBH.

*DING* You can't, they're good hand dryers but crap dryers.

I've seen some in a bog somewhere in the Lake District. It's jolly weird
seeing your skin ripple in the air blast.

Are these actually new-generation though? The outlet looks fairly
conventional. Might be, to get round the Air-Knife patent, the other
makers have just upped the air speed and kept an ordinary outlet.

Even the Air-Knife type are still shit, ttbomk [1] - I much prefer new
    clean paper towels.

[1] Afaik, they don't get round the problem of badly maintained ones
covering your hands in all the airborne bacteria in the room. Anybody
who's ever opened one of the conventional ones up would be amazed at the
amount of crap inside, and I see no reason why the A-K type would be any
    different.

Yep, thought it bloody brilliant. 10 times better than any other hot
    air hand dryer I've used.

    They're fantastic.

****-all use for warming up your bits after a cold run on the bike in
    winter, mind.

And seem identical to stuff that's been in Japan for years... not made
    by Dyson though.

  16. Good Heavens! You don't mean... he could have nicked the idea?
Perish the thought. I've never heard the like. I mean every idea of his
is original, isn't it? So we've been told anyway and I've no doubt at
all the cyclone vacuum cleaner owes nothing at all to the cyclone
workshop vacuum system that's been around for decades. Pure coincidence,
    that.

I thought Dyson had always said that he'd got the idea for the vacuum
cleaner from a paint filter system in a workshop?

  18. To hear him brag about it in the early years, you wouldn't think that at
    all.

Ah well, you have the advantage of me there, as I never attended any
cocktail parties with him, I just read what the blurb said on the
early dyson vacuum cleaner I bought.
