Used to have a ZZR600 (as you may remember) from 1996 and indeed, they were
heavy to ride. Just make sure there's not too much sidewind when riding it
    :)

Did a trackday on it at Mallory though and enjoyed it.

They're physically quite long and low for a 600, but the seat height
    isn't too bad.

They're effing fast - I got nicked on one. Comfy. Amazingly good on
fuel, considering how quick they are. Seriously, the engine's a belter.
You'll see 160+ on the clock.

Real problem is the finish is a bit pants and the suspension is
seriously low-rent, but that's easily improved. As a fast touring 600,
    it has its points.

And don't forget that the exhausts are made of cheese (the kind that easily
    rusts)

    They do go like stonk.
'A bit pants' is putting it mildly. Mine was less than 18 months old
when I traded it in and I needed to touch up various bits of peeling
paint and rust spots. This was on a 'used bugger all during winter'
    example.
I remember Kiran riding the doo-dahs off of his on a BOTAFOT. They can
be chucked around but you do need a bit of 'oomph' to do it.

    Indeed, he did.

Why he defected to a non-Kawasaki I'll never know. What do you reckon?

If its for your lady, can I suggest you take your time and plonk her on a
few used ones in a dealer, somewheres, then come up with a shortlist?

Either way, I reckon she'll need a bit carving out of the seat and/or the
    suspension dropping a touch.

he had a ZZR600 - he was totally shit at riding it, though[1]

[1] one particular BOTAFOT incident had me close to chinning the
    Sontaran fucker.

Agree with all of that. Mine was a 1994, which I think was the E model. 1991
might be an earlier D model so might be slightly more shit than the later
    ones.
