Since I had a TIA 2 1/2 years ago my left arm and hand have had zero
feeling - there's full mobility and use in them but I don't feel pain or
    sensation. That was until tonight.

All of a sudden it hit me, all the pain and sensation I've been missing
in that time came at once. I am in agony. The pain can only be described
    as absolutely fucking excrutiating.

Hmmmm , I can see how this could actually be a good thing.
Probably doesn't feel like it though - hope it settles down soon

Nah, I know what that feels like and this doesn't extend across the
chest area. This is all the nerves in my arm deciding to hold a party,
    the bastards.
I'll see how bad it gets

It catches up, it's two years ago when I nearly died and they sliced my
scalp up. Now I'm getting the pain. I'm told this is normal but everyone is
    different so get it checked.

  11. Ouch. As others have said, that probably needs looking at. I can
see how it might just be some "blockage" lifted and unaccustomed neurons
being stimulated, but it might be other stuff too.

Well I am sure you know what the 'real thing' felt like last time, but
I'm not sure I could ignore what you describe without at least a call to
NHS Direct, and I can guess what they will say.

Ditto. 6 months since I had 6 ribs removed and replaced with a plate on my
right hand side. Didn't hurt till last week. Feels like I'm been stabbed
every time I cough now (conveniently, caught a cough and cold at the same
    time...).

That's not the same thing at all. After 6 months your muscles barely
know where they are, let alone how to hold the body together. You've
just over-stressed them a bit. I did the same three weeks after my
metal spine was removed; thankfully I've been following orders since
and it seems to be working - now back at work 100%, plus apparently
able to stay up drinking to all hours and still be up for the morning
    session...

Having been through a DVT at age 22 and therefore recovered fairly
easily you have my utmost sympathy.
So I guess it's another round of doc visits and the attendant
    aggravation.
    Get well mate.
