Thankfully, the 10th petrol station I stopped at this evening was open.

200.1 miles since I filled up this afternoon

Pah, I took the Versys to 233 miles on 19.3 litres today - that's about
normal. Works out about 54mpg. Kawasaki said the tank only holds 19
    litres, they lied to me.

Strangely enough this is the only bike I have owned that I have ever
checked the fuel consumption on, and only then to see if I can
    regularly keep it above 55mpg.

According to the manual, the light comes on at 3.5 litres left to go.
As, according to the display I was averaging 11 miles/litre, that gave
me 38 miles. As the light came on at 167 miles, that means that I
probably had about 5 miles left when I filled up.

Of course, I only managed to squeeze 20 litres into the 21 litre tank,
so either I can't fill the top due to the shape, or there was 10 miles
more fuel in the tank than I thought.

    I suspect the former.
The busa is typically giving 40mpg with my usual mix or town and
country, and last night's 50mpg was a bit of an exception. Having
finally found fuel and pointed the bike towards home, the mpg took a bit
of a nose dive for the remainder of the trip.

Not much point, other than to change the noise

I got the flashy display thingy again today[1] and when I filled up 25
miles later it would only take 18.3 litres - still worked out at 54mpg
as well. The last two days have seen me riding up and down dual
carriageways and motorways in search of a new motah (see other post).

[1] The most fuel it's take in two days since Chimay last year
