A friend of mine just bought a used ZZR600 with 1600 miles on it with a
known and admited issue on it. From what my friend was told by the
previous owner, one fine day the bike just begun to choke at high
speeds. Here's what I discovered when I actually rode it home from
Jersey to NYC. It starts fine, revs beautifully, getting to about 45mph
with no issues whatsoever. But once you're up to 50mph or so,
regardless of what gear you're in or how high the RPMs are, the engine
starts choking and stalling out. It doesn't shut off completely, nor
does it produce any power, it just keeps jerking back and forth between
gaining some power and then loosing it. It pretty much limits the speed
of the bike to around 60mph even with full throttle. Once again, the
engine never cuts out completely. While parked, I was able to rev the
engine to 9K RPM and it sounds clean, no skipping or choking of any
kind and getting great throttle response. Could someone point us in the
right direction as to what the issue could be? Thanks in advance.

  10. His ZZR only does 300 feet per hour? I didn't know Hardley made a bike
    called a ZZR...

It would probably go quicker if he pulled the chocks out from
    in front of it.

  14. Probably, since he rode it from Jersey--that's why it's flooded.
