The time's coming up for me to decide whether to settle the final bill
on my ferry crossing for this year's TT, or cancel it and make other
    two-wheeled plans for the summer.

So, other than old-man Fisher and old-man Champion, anyone else making
    concrete plans to go?

Sadly not able to make concrete plans. If I go, it'll be a last
    minute thing.

Gawann you know you want to. I'll get my ex NHCA 750 champion mate to
show lead you across from Peel to Port Erin the 'interesting way' on
    his KTM 950SM.

I've made no plans at all, other than provisionally book the time off
work. I would like to go but it depends on how much I get for the Tiger
& Jeep as they'll be funding this year's playtime.

Different. I've only done 1 TT since 1999 (2007) but several Manx
trips. You have a point, but I'm hoping for some decent weather. Yes,
I know, I should have done the Manx last year.

One of the attractions was less clueless cunts on 2 wheels.

It seems that in TT fortnight every weaving 40mph 4 wheeled **** takes to
wobbling on 2 wheels and ships out to the IoM. Anyone who thinks that bike
riders are better road users than car drivers should spend a day trying to
    ride Douglas to Bride

Fewer wheels? What kind of idiot takes a unicycle to the TT?

Feck. Mind you they did the coast, not the TT course ..

"After mastering the basics of unicycling Carl decided he would
explore the sport further, and a chance discovery online led him to
uncover the world of extreme and mountain unicycling. "

    Nutter .. !

Is it really worth doing? As one who isn't a great race fan or a fan
of huge crowds, (although the Laguna Seca GP was pretty cool,) should
    I make the effort?

I feel I need a week of loafing on a beach with beers at the moment
but no doubt a decision will be reached on the TT soon after I get
    home.

Adie & I were toying with the idea of doing the Southern 100 and
Chimay as one decent break rather than the TT and the idea certainly
    has appeal.

I've got to cough up the balance by the 28th.

Presumably nobody's talked to Ash yet.

Deposit is still paid on the hall, but no confirmation of dates or
balance has yet been made with them.

I've only been once and really enjoyed it. This was after a looooooooong
break from riding, so yes, I was one of those wobbling pretty slowly
around the course[1]. I chickened out doing it on Mad Sunday.

Can't say as we noticed it to be particularly crowded either, apart from
the gedawful beer tent in Douglas.

We were lucky and had fantastic weather, ferry crossings like a mill
    pond in both directions.[2]

    [1] I don't think I'd be much faster now.
    [2] I don't think it's always like that.

I've wibbled around on a couple of crappy bikes[1], Mad Sunday included
but I've not been since I started riding half-decent bikes.
Out of Douglas it's OK, but I liked staying in Douglas because of the
things going on in the evenings. And the pubs.
Lucky you! One year it was so bad that the ferry took a "short cut"
home and we docked at Liverpool instead of Heysham. Still, it cut a
chunk off our journey back South.
