  1. Nah, someone just photoshopped him to make it look that way...

big (and if anyone _actually_ photoshops Clem pink, I *don't* want to
    know!)

I was talking about a 750/4 having more street cred and pulling power 30
years ago than a GS500 today.

    Does it do anything quickly?

("Z50s are nifty, but liquor is quicker" - with apologies to Ogden Nash)

Bus Drivers and Taxi Drivers earn about 5 times as much as they did
roughly 20 years ago, and I could quote a number of similar unskilled or
low skilled jobs in a similar position.

I agree jobs which require significant training have not increased that
    much in my experience though.

But there are almost certainly more unskilled workers out there, which
is likely reflected in that median figure.

Also 'full time' is now defined somewhat differently than it was...

I don't know about Ians estimate... but the average wage at 3 Bus
Companies, 2 taxi companies and a tyre service in 1985 was very close to
    a gross of 8K.

Yes about $160 a week, and that was for senior staff... juniors got
    about $120.

And these were award or over award wages.

  9. That was the dining room shed Clem! I suspect his new booth is the van (has
anybody ever been in there) next to the electrickery shed.

The Govt thinks you're gainfully employed if you work 15 hours a month. On
the other hand, they issue senior cards to people over 60 who work only 20
    hours a week.
