    Hi,

Mate's bike had one officially installed with all necessary paperwork, and
then had it taken off after 2 years.

He thinks he then got a certificate saying it had been removed...

Can this restrictor be put back on by me and it be legal for my son to ride
[1]? Or does someone official have to do something with paperwork?

    TIA

    [1] test is thursday morning

I fitted them to my lad's NC30 then had it dyno'd for proof of the power
    restriction.

    Shortly after we removed them.

I've paid anything from a tenner (Bob Farnham, TZR125, 1994) to 40 quid
(Bandit Bikes, GSXR1000, 2009) for a dyno run and printout.

Phone them and ask. Just say you want a run and printout, not any setup
    work.

Or just keep an eye out for any bike-related place having an open day
with a dyno. You might be able to get it done for free (Hein Gericke
    Slough, GSF1200, 2003).

First things first - You do *not* need any kind of paperwork to prove
the bike is restricted. By this I mean you do not legally *need* a
certificate, nor a dyno printout or any other 'proof' the bike is
    33bhp/25kW friendly.

It's probably worth having it dynoed purely to make sure it is because
the police have the power to seize the bike and have it tested at any
time, whether you have paperwork in place or not.

Personally, if I was subject to this fucking ludicrous restriction, I'd
ride the thing without any paperwork or dyno proof purely because the
law doesn't say I leghally need it.

Mate's bike had one officially installed with all necessary paperwork, and
    Mate can't find the bits...

Does anyone have a spare ER-5 restrictor kit lying around?

    TIA

They should also fit an NC24.
