  4. There's no insert in the head. Looks like someone didn't realise there
were still existing gasket rings in the manifold and just bunged in
another set. I've seen it before.

Lever them out with a screwdriver blade and carry on.

I'm pretty sure I've done it.

  7. I know I have, having mistaken severely crushed gasket rings for the
    manifold casting itself.

On my 250LC, I deliberately put on 2 exhaust gaskets, as with just one
    it started leaking too quickly

Yes, I can understand that. Amazing how they all come out of the
    woodwork, innit?

Never ride your K1100LT off the centrestand before bolting on the top lug of
    your new ohlins shock

On my RD there are two copper gaskets and two flange gaskets, it's the
only way it will seal at all, and has been the case on every RD I've
ever had, doesn't make a difference if they're pattern or genuine parts
    either.

I sent the CB head off for blasting with the gaskets in place as I
didn't see them, and I only just noticed when putting the exhausts on,
bit of a rummage with a pointy thing had them both out.
