To when they cut this cast off. Of course I don't expect to be riding
right away but at least I can count it as a step in that direction.

I am hoping that this time they got it right. I certainly paid the price
in terms of post-op agony and the seemingly endless wait to just be able
to get dressed, all by myself.

I can't wait till both my arms are the same size again!

You are good to go. Positive mental attitude. You know it.

If physical therapy is part of the recovery, just learn to have that
    love/hate relationship with your therapist.

Glad to hear your are recovering.

Yeah, I had to "loosen things up" before this second surgery. Fun.
Especially since two of those critical bones were completely in the
    wrong place. Ouch.
I have a good feeling about this iteration though. The surgeon is one of
those perfectionists with a very focused resume. Did training at the
Hand Center in Houston, which is where they wrote the book on high
    energy trauma and crushing injuries.
Very highly regarded, so I feel OK about the progs.
    Thanks for the encouragement!

That will take a few weeks what with the atrophy and all.
Soon another deer hunter will be back on the road!

You get on that R1 quick Jim!

Undoubtedly that 48 hours will seem much longer to you than it will to
me, but I'm glad to hear that you're ready to take the next step.

    Thanks for the encouragement!
It's off as of this afternoon (the cast) and though I can tell I have a
LOT of work to do, it feels more or less "right" or close to it.
I think the toughest part might be getting my nerve back. I'm sure you
    know what I mean.

I can recall getting back on the bike after a more minor mishap than
yours. For the next few months, I felt a little twinge every time I
    headed into a right-hand turn.

Take it easy, but get back out there.
