Last night's report on toll roads (public/private partnerships).

Mention of increasing congestion in cities..no mention of motorcycles...

Scene: Toorak Road....stream of stationary traffic....including tram with
obviously bored tram driver ....interview to camera with academic .

(word search on Toorak to get to relevant scene)

And whilst moaning the lapse of public policy a loan scooter casually
proceeds down Toorak Road and onwards.

Note in the entire report there was zero reference to
motorcycles/scooters/bicycles. Well...zero reference to reindeer and moose
    too I guess.

oh.. and the scooter had a pillion...which is one more than most of the cars
    were carrying.

If they ban lane-splitting then don;t bikes/scooters become less appealing

Not to mention the apparently higher death rate amoungst bike riders.

    nothing apparent about it.

THe crash rate is the same as cars, but as bikers aren't surrounded by
cages and airbags, they die and get injured more.

However, in car-bike smashes, the car is at fault over 70% of the
    time.
