Bloody hell, the new rear (well it's only been on 1800miles) is utterly
fucked again. I am deffo gonna replace it with a road2 as opposed to a
sport2. The front sport has done 7k & looks like new.

I do tend to push on, but bloody hell, i'm no racer.

I'll try my best to get one for Saturday, it looks like i'm sorted to come
along, but i wont be drinking, you'll be happy to hear :)

The Road 2s on my thou worked perfectly well on the Alpine run. One
minor (and I mean minor) moment at the tail end of a batshit-crazy
mountain pass where they started to get a bit warm and squidgy but
otherwise completely uneventful and they've shown no signs of wear
    whatsoever.

I'm sure the tyre manufacturers love us all thinking we need tyres that
wear out in 1500 miles rather than 9000 and the magazine reviews only
    perpetuate the myth.

My Dunlop Qualifier RRs have now done over 2000 miles, and the rear is
only half worn. And I didn't have a single moment all trip, even in
the pissing wet crossing over-banding. Highly recommended.

Although the low wear could be explained by my continuing
theory/assertion that long journeys at steady speeds are very good for
tyre life, and don't "wear out the middle of the tyre".

It's nice to know I was ahead of the game by two years. My 955i Daytona
had a set of Road2s fitted when I sold it to Nige - the rear that I
replaced just before then had done a good 8500 miles, without once
giving me any cause for concern.
