Plus some petrol and some oil. Not to mention that I'm back on the same bike I set out on and didn't even have to call Auntie Carole's breakdown service. Which was probably a good thing given that I think I only have an old (international) number for them... Riding in the Alps rocks, even if they're full of tourists (ahem). Getting there isn't that great but the route I use down to that end of the world is halfway decent - autoroute to Chalons and then just go cross-country vaguely in the right direction until I turn up near Mulhouse. It was especially nice that it was sunny all the way down once I had left the standard issue British Drizzle behind near Reims. A BMW 1150RT does indeed make a decent tourer (quelle surprise), especially when fitted with a decent seat. Fortunately I bought a Corbin a few months back, otherwise this could've gotten a tad painful. So, what have I missed (aside from Dan, which I've obviously seen in the hotel last night).
