What a perfect description of Jeremy Clarkson!

If you didn't watch Top Gear, catch the repeat. The deisel Jag around
    the Nurburgring is excellent.

It's a lot better when Sabine is driving instead of JC.

Has anyone from here been round the track?

I'd have been embarrassed on one of those bikes though, being
    overtaken by him.

I'd suggest that there's not many people on here could do a 9.59 lap in
    that car, though.

Stritchy emerged from their own little world to say
I liked it when, after several misogynous comments from JC, the female
instructor pointed out that, "you've just been overtaken by a girl".

Well if you're going to pay for the trip there, hotels and sundry
    <cough> expences, I'll pay the €14 a lap.

  11. I don't normally watch Top Gear and most of the show helped me
understand why I won't be bothering in future. They really have made it
    very stupid indeed.

I did enjoy the Nurburgring feature if only because the sheer lunacy of
the place was conveyed rather well through the film [1]. The German
girl beating JC by a decent margin was good.

[1] a bit of me says it would be fun to at least ride it once. The other
bit says I am a cowardly custard and am scared shitless at the thought
    of it..

  14. Well I don't drive but it just seems to be a vain attempt to be
    controversial and a bit daft.

Still I don't do fun so what would I know.
I liked her remarks - whether genuine or in the script - about JC and
how good he thought he was. While he can obviously drive a car
reasonably well (this from me with zilch knowledge on the subject) he
does like to completely overegg his own abilities and confidence (maybe
    all part of the "image").
So which bike journo are you racing against next week then?

    <pip the pixie mode>
And that will be another pound please.

To be honest, the difference between 9.12 and 9.59 isn't exactly huge
when you're comparing somone who touts themselves as a local expert with
    a journo who's been there 2 days.

FWIW, that difference would come well within the 110% qualifying rule
for most races, so is comparable with a 2 mins dead and 2.12 lap,
IYSWIM. Not a huge amount of difference.

I actually really enjoyed the young buck Clarkson in his early years on
TG. What a breath of fresh air he was compared to those wooly-jerseyed
    twats.

It takes significantly less time to learn about a car than it does to
    learn about the 'Ring.

A good driver will be able to car hop and be more or less on the pace
within a handful of corners.... it takes a lot longer to learn a track
like the 'Ring - 2 days is definitely nowhere near enough.
