'82 Yamaha XJ550J

    Can anyone point me to a service/repair manual which covers the Yamaha
    Maxim XJ550J? I see that Clymer has a manual that covers the XJ550, is
    there any difference between the engine and bike setup between the XJ550
    and the XJ550J (aside from one being a sport and the other a cruiser)?

    Only $60, what's wrong with that? And yours is in stock.

    There's also plenty of illegal copies of dealership service manual CD's
    floating around on Ebay for real cheap, if you want to go that route.

    The engines are the same, so the differences are the obvious - chassis,
    styling, etc etc.
