Hi all, i have found an old 84 KLR 600a, no spark and motor gets a bit too
hot apparently. Someone hooked up a 12v battery and kicked it in the guts a
few times but nothin. I think he knows what he's doing. Anyway, what would a
cdi unit and or other electronic bits cost if they needed to be replaced.
The bike itself is a bit rough. They want $400 for it. i want to see/hear it
going first. Any tips on things to check or sequence to check/values to read
with ohm meter etc? I can bring it home for a few days and play around with
    it.

I was also told that after people read the KLR 600 bit and eventually stop
laughing i might get an answer.

    Comments appreciated.

    Gary.

I rode one in the mid 1980's and liked it. Be warned by the time you get it
fixed up it could cost you several thousand dollars. in my opinion buy a
    later model and less problems.

Main thing I remember about them was the "automatic decompressor" which
could make it fiendishly difficult to start. Check that is working
    properly....
