'85 Nighthawk speedo died...any suggestions?

Discussion in 'Motorbike Technical Discussion' started by Jeremy Chavers, Sep 18, 2003.

  1. I've got an '85 Nighthawk 650, and noticed my speedo acting erratically on
the way home from work today, so when I got it home, I yanked the cable and
greased it up. While I was at it, I noticed that the teeth on the 'ring'
gear portion of the speedo hub at the tire were just about all worn off -
i'm assuming from the cable binding - they're just plastic teeth.

Can anybody recommend a good place to get a replacement, if my local honda
house doesn't have it available anymore?

    Thanks!

Have no fear- Honda *will* have that part. Your dealer may have to
order it, but it's available. Honda does a fantastic job of keeping
parts available for their old bikes.

    For a '1985 Honda CB650SC NIGHTHAWK 650':

On the FRONT WHEEL page, Partsfish.com has item #10, 'GEAR, SPEEDOMETER'
for $19.20, part number 44806-MB0-003. (Not liable for incorrect part
    numbers, prices, yadda yadda).
