  1. I don't think Mark's bothered. But if you type a lot in Spanish, why
don't you get a Spanish keyboard? You can hot-swap them. If you can't get
one there, I suppose I could send you one. Dunno what the postage would
    be like.

¡Joder! About 3 times the cost of the keyboard.

  2. The only pronominal meaning of "chingar(se)" as far as I can tell, is
"get pissed". Without the "se" it means to fight. Hang on, in Mexico it
    might be something else.
    Hoorah!

It's already complete. It took me about 10 minutes to knock up a keymap
that I was happy with, so all the accented characters I use are accessible
via the AltGr key. Job done.

It's only Paul in pedant mode that seems to have an issue with it. AFAIK,
there's no despues without the accent, so there's no ambiguity.
    See, now that looks fine.

Looks like it's a combination of your newsreader and mine. I can see
other people's chars OK with Xnews which I use most of the time, and I can
see yours OK if I use Thunderbird at home.

    Oh well.

That's too much of a pain in the arse. I predominantly type in English
but swap for 5/10/30 minutes into Spanish, then back again. I can't be
bothered to swap keyboards around, nor learn a new keyboard layout. I'm
happy using AltGr+<key> to get what I want, rather than hitting ' then
Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. I could easily get one next time I'm
over if I really wanted to inflict that on myself.

  7. An issue? I simply said this: "Here, have one of these: é". It was
supposed to be a kind of a funny, because it was in response to a
    correction of someone else's English.

  8. Ah, but do you have the "comillas españolas"? You'll need them when you
come to write a novel, or a scientific paper. Or a newspaper article.

I thought it was a kind gift, for cutting and pasting. A thoughtful
gesture, for the easing of others charachter searching woes.

    Dunno - I can't see what that is. ;-)
Unlikely in my case, although some kind of paper is always possible,
    generally, I can't be arsed.
Don't worry about them. You carry on.
