Anyone know where I can get one?

The first one I had, I was given, and now can't find.

Basically looking for a 9V ciggie type adapter (the bit that you plug
accessories *INTO*) that has the hoop type connecters for fitting to a bike
    battery.

Look, whatever voltage it is, I'm not desperately bothered.

What I want is the adapter - can you help with that question?

It just happens to be quite important, given that you don't want to be
    supplying 12v to something that's expecting 9v.
    Halfords.

Assuming you mean 12V, I just use one of the extension sets from
Halfords. It's got a double socket on one end, & a plug on t'other that
goes into the existing car lighter socket. Cut that plug off & stick a
couple of battery connectors on it et voila!

If you do mean an adapter that also drops it to 9V, bugger knows.

I just use one of the extension sets from
yeah I guess that's probably the way to do it. Just thought it might be
possible to get one already done (yes I KNOW it isn't a tough job).

12v, yes. Maplins, extension lead, socket one ens, plug the other. Buy,
remove *plug*, add crimp on ring connectors. Done.

9v - never heard of one.

You probably can get them from somewhere like Touratech, but if so,
they'll no doubt have the usual 'motorcycle accessory premium' added to
    the price.

Indeed - looks like it's about £5 from Maplins, so I shall pop into the one
    near work.

Cheers though I think I can manage it - good idea re the fuse.

This is for the GPS [1], nothing too exciting.

[1] spoilt for choice as to where to put it :) It'll vibrate to bits within
days (the GPS, not the bike) mind you.

I can crimp on the requisite battery connectors if you want, but it would
also be worth putting an inline fuse in the positive lead also.

    Here's a stupid question - this would be a 12V fuse, yes?

A 3 year old, slightly worse for wear but well travelled Garmin E-Trex
    Vista.

Used to live on the SV, then the GSX-R, now I want to put it on the bike
where it makes the most sense, yet I'll probably use it least :)
