A bike post!

There have been a few attempts at fully enclosed bikes over the years,
but none have really got anywhere due to either being crap or stupidly
expensive (or both). So a question: if you could buy a fully enclosed
bike that had the same performance & handling as your current favourite
bike, looked the dogs, & cost the same as an equivalent 'normal' bike,
would you buy one? Or is being out in the open air one of the things
    you like most about bikes?

  6. Are you talking things like the BMW C1, or bikes like the Ariel Leader,
    without a roof?

"fully enclosed". So like that Swiss thing with the stabiliser wheels
that pop down when you drop below a certain speed.

Sort of - but without the thatched roof.

Just changed the exhaust headers and collector as the latter had rusted
to a cobweb. Luckily (Christ knows how) I had a brand new set in the
    garage for just this occasion.

One likes to be prudent in these troubled economic waters. I actually
bought it on Ebay about 5 years ago. Clever old me.

No, I mean where the rider's fully enclosed too. And don't mention
Black Princes - sore point. I was hoping to wangle my mum's out of her,
    but she's sold it :-(

I sort of agree with the sentiment though.

Over the 45 ish years I have been riding the nanny state has slowly but
    surely made fun illegal.

OK, so some of the things we did were daft and often downright dangerous
but who gave them the right to stop us ?.
Bloody killjoys the lot of them.
