Lad at work went looking for a used GS1200 but came back with one of these:
    http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=hp2
All the trick toys fitted by the previous owner too. Top dollar but a nicely
    put together bike.
Now if only they'd stick a proper engine (Guzzi 1100Sport) in it I'd be
    sorted; 'Quota2008'.

See I've been lusting after one of those since they came out. You do
know Bonwick's brother's got one, yes?

He wishes he'd waited and bought a KTM instead.

Why's that? I'm just curious. As although I've only ridden both (a KTM990&
the HP2) around our ind. estate, the BMW seemed a much easier beast to get
    on with. Nippy too.

That was a feeble attempt to get Krusty to bite. My bother's more than
happy with his HP2 and swears he'll never get rid of it. He's actually
got one of the original ones and has two sets of wheels/tyres for it
but I don't think the enduro ones have ever been fitted.

The guy at work with the HP2 is a semi-pro MX rider and has left the BMW in
Enduro trim. He's also got a YZF450 Supermotard on which he is very, very
capable. No fear at all. Not even a little bit. Currently sitting at
11points on his licence, which I suppose concentrates the mind a bit too.

Because you're a cheapskate? Go and rob something out of your dads
workshop and sell it to finance the HP2. He's probably got enough
bikes and spares not to notice a few grands worth going missing.

    There is that.
Good plan. I'll probably get roped in to help when they move to Italy,
so that'd be a good opportunity.
