....and if you knew your criminal law, you wouldn't have taken
it upon yourself to dish out her punishment.

I thought this was going to be a friendly group but obviously not, I don't
know whether I wish to be a part of this anymore.

I was just making comment on what had happened to me re my day in court as I
am female and aged 44 this was a new experience for me and I admit I was
wrong in dishing out the punishment that I did but never having dealt with
the law before I surprised with the outcome that I received. Compared to the
19 yr old before me who deserved everything she got in going to jail. Drink
driving is something I have never done in my entire life.

I paid the restitution immediately before I walked out of the courthouse
and the lady has got her car fixed immediately. I am sorry for what I did
and I have learnt my lesson.

I feel you are all judging me worse than the magistrate who dealt with my
    case.

    Regards
    Susan

Susan, stick around. It's nothing personal you know. You didn't
expect anyone in here to say "good on ya" for damaging the ladies
    car did you?

    Welcome to Harsh week.

Want sympathy? You'll find it in the dictionary between shit and
    syphillis.

What happened to the cop who wanted to positively contribute to the news group.

If that was your intention Spooky, you seem to be going about it the wrong way.

I can see the culture of the NSW police service showing through the cracks. I thought that you
were genuinely interested in road safety and not demonstrating a very large ego....... :(

You need a holiday - I think its getting at you.

    Cheers.

Check the headers; you are posting to two groups. One is friendlier to
    motorcyclists than the other.

  7. Too right.

It's also simpler in a legal sense to simply run into the vehicle
that fails to give way. Not that I recommend that that be done
    *deliberately*.

Well, I for one am quite impressed that you managed to do that much damage.

The lesson that you should take away from this, is that in 'educating'
fellow road users, you should not cause any visible damage to their
    property or person.

I can fully understand your need to let the other person, who might be
ignorant of their offence) know what they have done. The trick is to
retain your self control, but not let on to the other person.

I have found that pounding even fairly lightly on the roof of the car
can create quite worriesome noises inside the vehicle. Back in the days
when I rode a pushie, I could work up quite a nice red-faced,
foaming-at-the-mouth "step out here and I'll rip your arms off"
presentation, while using moderately polite language to request that the
driver kindly look where (s)he is going before turning left on top of a
cyclist. (I found that most times people tried to turn left over the
top of me, it was at a minor road, and they were not going far, so it
was an easy matter to catch up before they got out of the car. ;-)

On the motorcycle, if the initial response of someone who has just tried
to occupy the same space as me on the road is not one of contrition, I
find that a good blast of a rather loud horn, a couple of flashes of the
lights, and falling in behind them has a nicely unsettling effect. I
usually only follow them around three or four turns......

Yeah, well the magistrate had to look you in the eye. No-one in these
groups has to, so they can be as gung-ho as they want.

Which group did you expect to be friendly? aus.cars is full of
arrested-development special-needs cases, and aus.motorcycles is full of
    damn bikies.

If motorcyclists kicked the shit out of every car that cut us off the jails
    would be full.

Although it may be the best driver training available.
