A dilema

Some people should just steer clear of FB. ;-)

I wonder if perhaps you haven't been the victim of some sort of malware or
just a dodgy FB "app" which with the merest hint of a click, spawns itself
to all your face book friends and if they're fool enough to click it, goes
around the world before you know it. If you haven't done so already, change
    your password.

What I really can't get my head around though is that there's not been a
single mention of that appalling affront to the English language in the
subject line. What's a "dilema"?? Something mailed badly?

You need to post the full discussion now so that we can judge who was
in the wrong, & call them a **** accordingly.

    Something and nothing.

He took the piss because I was a United fan without a ticket. Usual
    'armchair supporter' jibes.

I countered that with 75k regulars at Old Trafford and 25k tickets for
Wembley, most fans couldn't get a ticket.

He suggested that real fans should turn up at Wembley even if they don't
    have tickets.

I countered that he should remember what happened last time fans of his
    club did something like that.

    He lost the plot.

I suggested that 'Scouse vermin' really shouldn't wind up rival fans if
they can't take a bit back.

He started sending me private messages calling me a 'bottleless Munich
    ****'.

I'd like to point out that, at no point, did I swear at him or wish ill
on him or his family, as Nige appears to be claiming.

It's something and nothing - I just deleted / blocked him and moved on.

Why Nige feels it needs to be brought to UKRM, I don't know.

Actually that's not a bad riposte.

  5. This group above all others is full of piss taking, windup merchants
who know exactly which buttons to press and when , giving that
perfect delivery for the amusement of the rest of us.

  6. They both are, IMHO. You mean this whole shebang was about bloody
    *football*? Jesus.

I'm now quite disappointed that it wasn't me doing the upsetting.

Well, quite - I hold my hands up and will say the northerner managed to
    wind me up.

But I was quite willing to just block him and move on - bringing it here
is all a bit pointless - and I've only responded because Nige seemed to
be unable to let it go, having made reference to it on another thread,
    too.

  11. My thoughts exactly. 5 year olds arguing in a playground demonstrate

More to the point, to most football "fans", the arguments are about
the relative merits of characters in a TV show.

That may be so, but why is it any more to the point? If you're trying
to suggest some sort of difference between 'real' fans and wannabees,
then it's you that's missing the point, I feel.

Well, yes, there's no point to any of it, but is there any point to
    anything?

I was merely likening it to arguing over the merits of Elsie Tanner
and Hilda Ogden, and calling each other names based on said
    preferences.

At least "real" fans take part in the tawdry spectacle, and invest
time, money and effort in their delusion.

    <snip>

So, basically, Nige is whining about his mate who's complaining that
someone was not only mean to him, but did it in such a way that he feels
humiliated that he not only lost the argument, but that he couldn't even
compete on the same level? And it's about football?

    What a let down...

Enjoy your stay at Hotel Bastardos - if you want soft toilet paper,
you should try Hotel Gayboy down the road.

Well, SteveH does have form for this sort of thing. Nowhere near as
entertaining as the 3 ways affairs he used to have with Bear & JackH with
    Bonwick shit stirring.
