The bloke who supplies used tyres at Donington said that the track
surface there eats everything except Dunlops for some reason. I asked
if the Dunlops offered good grip, to which he replied "Bridgestones are
better, but they shred to bits too quickly."

Do it at Brands, then I can watch and buy you a bouquet of Aldi

Hardly track god status, but I did improve with a bit of tuition and
concentrating more on getting Coppice right. I was concerned that I
would screw up Goddards and Redgate. I only got Goddards wrong once[1]
and Redgate was fine, except once when I got a leery slide with Paul
Haskins watching me. It turned out to be Coppice I didn't initially
like but that came together eventually, as I said.

Ginge reckons that by the end of the day Champ was lapping 3 seconds
quicker than me with Daz right with him. At the beginning Daz was about
6 seconds a lap faster than me. I'm more than happy to be only 3
seconds a lap slower than either of those two.

[1] Champ was lining himself up for an impressive overtake on the exit,
but I fucked up his plans by going wide on the entry, which let him
through earlier than he'd expected. Cheeky **** even gave me a Bear
style cheery wave whilst cranked right over as he passed.

Yep, but had things to do and a bike to ride and how to ride a bike to
    remember :)
NP. I haven't had much practise in sports/fast action photography but
the equipment can handle it no problem, so shite pictures will be my
    fault :)

Lozzo came up with the following;:
    ;) Glad you liked it.
But which one gives the most satisfaction?
I used to love the combinations from leaving Redgate through Hollywood and
Craner Curves to the Old Hairpin ... awesome bit of track.
It's much nicer when someone can objectively help you get the line ... ;)

Best day of the year so far. It was a prezzie to myself for getting a
clear MRI scan. That was the main reason I hadn't been keen to do one
    until now.
Gee, ta. I'm putting another set of 014s on, I like the way they feel.
The bike is perfectly set up for me now. I added 3 clicks of
compression and rebound damping to the forks and backed the rear
preload right off to the lower limit without touching the damping
settings. It will take hard acceleration from fairly serious angles of
lean without squatting, spinning up or wallowing now.

The forks were my main concern. On the road I found that when coming
off the brakes the front was bouncing back far too quickly and
upsetting the whole bike making it really hard to have any confidence
in pitching it on its ear into the corner. Adding more rebound has
cured that and allows me to come off the brakes later, which means I
can start braking later and still turn in without the bike bucking
around. It now feels much better on the road too.

All that's left now is to try some different tracks. I'll wait until
the pre-disastered bodywork arrives from Belfast. I'll do some Loz-
welding of that lot and slap it on for the next one[1].

[1] Oh yes, there will be a next one :)

  15. Careful. It can get awfully expensive once you get addicted to trackdays.

Was I in fast group? Can't remember TBH, I know I was asked "are you
sure you want to be in this group" when I signed on.

I've not long had mine checked. As a fat bastard I fully expected hell

Well, that's why I got mine checked. My mum has had high BP and high
cholesterol for 20 years, and been having to manage it with a
restricted diet and drugs, so I thought now I was at "a certain age"
I'd better get checked. My BP is low (110/70) and I know I'm quite
fit, but I've prolly got a genetic disposition to high cholesterol.
    Ho hum.
