Well, finally I've gone and done it. Couldn't wait for the insurance cheque
and ordered the bike yesterday. Today it is mine... a brand spanker, black
and sexy, awaiting her master's instruction (as is the bike). I hope that
    cheque arrives tomorrow... hehe

I got the deal I wanted and ordered the Bagster tankbag (black to go with
the red bags we still had) and the matching Givi pannier set + topbox. They
are very cool and the topbox can fit 2 helmets - so is huuuge.

So that's the end of the saga (touching wood now - as you'd expect I would
be) and we're back on the road again. This bike is very different to what
I'm used to and I'll have to force myself to stick below 5k revs for the
first thou. Hmmm.... worth it in the end.

Thanks to all those of you who gave great input into this decision and those
who just put up with my carrying on. No doubt we'll cross paths in the
    future.

    Cheers,

thats the way, ride it well but dont thrash it and it will do you well
if i was going to be on a bike all the time it would be near the top of my list
of bikes to buy , wont be duck riding for much longer , but will again in the future one day

you forgot the Big Fucking Chain

for as early as poss. next week... :)

  8. Congrats on the new toy. :)

Did the Datadots come with a sticker/sign anything warning of Datadotting?
If so would you be so kind as to take a pic or scan or similar of them?

Aaron - DataDotting on the cheap.

    Hi guys,
Cheers - I'm pretty stoked, and even the missus is happy, despite my direct
disobedience on awaiting the insurance cheque before handing over the
cash... hehe We just won't be able to eat now until it comes! :)
They did - one at each end of the bike. I'll do that as soon as I can. Any
particular place you want me to send the pics?
    Very smart! :)

  10. aaronkylieATiinetDOTnetDOTau would be excellent. :)

Down the road from work there is a signs mob so hopefully they can run a
coupla stickers off for me cheaper than getting the actual DataDotting done.

As a bonus, it'll drive the theives nuts if they try to find the
    DataDots and remove them :)

    <munch>
Um... errr... actually I didn't. I already had the bloody huuuge chain,
it's just that I got too lazy to use the damned thing all the time - and a
few times I was a bit careless and it marked the rims, despite using a towel
for protection. I (accidentally) omitted that from the posts about the
    theft... hehe

Yup - my sediments exactly. I do miss the audio sensation that the last
bike provided, and have plans my man... cans + horn. If the bike can't be
depended on to awaken the neighbours in stock form, something must be done!

Um.... well there was this one time when I was completely pissed and out of
    luck...

Actually, I think a dog would be the perfect solution to be honest but can't
see how in the current abode it would be possible. Certainly something for
the near future when we leave this place - or so the plan goes...

Time to go short a 4wd and long a 1wd eh Burnie? C'mon mate - you can do
    it! :)
