A positive election post

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by stephen.packer, May 7, 2010.

  1. 1. The result may lead to an overhaul of the system.
    2. Tories didn't get a majority. (i.e. it could have been worse)
    3. The BNP didn't get a seat
    4. Green party got a seat
    5. A few of the snouts in the trough crowd got their come-uppance.

gurgled happily, sounding much like they were
    saying:
Yet the BNP got twice the vote of the Greens so far...

Trouble is, for exhibits of a snouty disposition, there are far bigger
troughs for them in the wild.

For very, very small values of may. Clegg's just thrown in the towel on
reform in the near future, unless he's gambling on a Tory attempt to
form a government ending in tears.
From the results I saw, UKIP were on a par with the BNP, thereby
    confirming their fringe status.
    That's a good thing? They're crypto-marxists masquerading as
environmentalists. **** that. With bells on.
Most of them had already resigned anyway.

All in all, not much to be cheerful about. Lets see what happens at
    2.30pm.

+1 This is by far the worst result of the night.

I'm running on neat caffeine atm after a drinking binge on Wednesday
night (wine tasting gone awry) and last night's election marathon.

No sign of the boss though, so could go on Vodka/Redbull rampage in the
Town of Ramsgate over lunch. Tempting...

We are in uncharted territory. Clegg's words were very carefully chosen.

Glass half empty/half full. I'd rather try to see it as half full.

It's a good opportunity for Clegg to show his metal. I hope he rises well to
    the occasion.
Yes they are but I'm still delighted to see her get a seat. You just
wouldn't want 50 of them. No bad thing to have one MP dedicated to ending
the burning of fossil fuels who will keep people focussed.
Yeah but some utter Labour donkeys did get re-elected proving something
    profound about their constituency areas.

Oh get away with you. It's only ONE green and some of their policies are
    right on the money.

Witness how many of us ended up largely Green on that

Ah yes and I forgot to mention, and I'm sure she will really appreciate me
saying so "bod as fit as a butcher's dog".

Important that, for female MP's ;o)

I was agreeing with you (OK, fair do's for not spotting that!). I
would say the majority of people reporting back here had come out
    partly, if not mostly, Green.

    12.5% in my case.

Well within the margin of error.

Cameron seemed to stop short of suggesting a coalition. Will Cleggy go
    for that do you think?
