I guess someone is making money but I'm pretty sure that the money being
made isn't available as capital to businesses who aren't stock traders.

  2. It's completely 'right'; basic negotiation, the Liberal Democrats have
soemthing Labour want and are well within their rights to name their
price. Labour are, of course, well within their rights to refuse the
    offer.

Looking at the numbers, they say SF aren't ever there so we can knock 5
off the 650 so actually we need half of 645; call it 323.

So Labour+LibDem isn't enough think they get SDLP anyway but they'll
    probably need SNP+Plaid Cymru.

    What a fucking mess.

    We need another election.

And there's now a fantastic pair of tits in Parliament.

    No, not Brown and Cameron.

But the fear is that, like the last time there was a minority
government, nothing was able to be acheived, so much that after six
months Wilson gave up on it and went back to the country. I suspect
that many would feel the same might happen here, with Brown as Heath,
desperately tring to cling on to power, Cameron as Wilson, stepping in
when the incumbent finally gives it up, then managing to pursuade the
nation six months later that he should be granted a proper mandate, as
    it were.

Yes, I know it's not _quite_ the same, but the similarities are many
and deep, so the expectation would be that the outcome might also
    follow history.

AAAAaaargh, the word is 'QUASHED', you illiterate moron!

Sorry, just a pet hate of mine. And no, I'm not interested in
doctionary entries showing the alternative usage.

Indeed, but the pound will still be left a little weaker.
How many have their first one for 36 years at a time when they've got a
serious & unusual budget deficit to sort out though? That's the
problem, how long will it take to sort out the economy if a coalition
can't agree on the way to tackle it. It seems like a perfectly
    reasonable concern to me.

P.S. there's a very good reason why Labour & the LDs weren't saying the
same thing. You can't really say a coalition would hurt the economy
when you know a coalition is the only chance you've got of forming a
    government.

The Tories should probably have kept quiet too, but you can understand
why they may have expected an overall majority.

  11. We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Hog"

Cunts, the lot of them. Give them a sniff of power and the guiding
    principles go out the window.
Give it a bit of time and she'll be a raddled auld harridan like the
    rest of them.

  13. I reckon we'll see more fucking buses and road calming in Brighton,
worsening the current traffic so they can say 'Oh, look at all this
congestion', and bung a fucking tax on driving into town. Cunts.

There's no way I'm sitting on a fucking bus for 45 minutes to get to
town, or getting the train in, meaning a mile travelling to the
nearest station, and then 20 minute walk into town from Brighton
    station.

Shame on all the fucking hippies.

The big difference this time is no Labour landslide.

It's a tough call for Clegg. He might be better letting the
Conservatives run things (and quite possibly make a hash of it) for a
while during very difficult times. Then he could try to capitalise by
citing the LD moderating influence at the next election (probably sooner
rather than later) and be in an even stronger position. Or he could go
for a deal with Labour that could see him withdrawing support if the
promise of a referendum isn't met.

Which is more in the 'national interest'? It's possible to make a case
either way, but as it seems the electorate who toyed with the idea of
voting LD funked it when the chips were down I it could be a case of
    "it's now or never..."

Despite the vitriol they hurled at her over expenses and the vows to
never vote Labour again, those thick fuckers in Salford re-elected
    that **** Hazel Blears!

The sheep round here did their usual thing and re-elected the same
useless sack of shite that wears a Labour rosette. Same shit(head),
    different day...

Yebbut it doesn't have to be like that. Brown could offer to stand down as a
means of ensuring that the coalition stood a chance of working and being
accepted. It would give him a way out with dignity (before the party dumps
him which would almost certainly happen fairly quickly anyway). The
coalition is based on a binding promise of electoral reform. After
electoral reform resulting in some kins of PR there is another election
pretty quickly and the Tory party in its current incarnation is banished to
the sidelines for ever (or until they develop a new approach that will
attract enough votors under PR). This means that Cameron NEVER gets to be
pm and George not-very-nice-and-dim Osborne NEVER gets to be chancellor.
    RESULT!!!
