Under a PR type of election? I don't think so!

  7. So you think that a PR based general election in the next few months
would see Labour win with a leader that isn't Brown becoming Prime
    Minister?

It's not right that a minority party has the power to decide who our
government is, & the power to exclude the party that got the most votes
from that government. It effectively means that Clegg's one vote
overrides the votes of 10.7 million other people. That's as far away
from PR as you can get, & if that's what he does, it says a hell of a
lot about why he wants PR.

I can just imagine how the Lib Dem supporters would react if the tables
were turned, & a minority Tory party joined a second place Labour party
to form the government, excluding the Lib Dems after they got the most
    votes.

  9. Even if the liberals link up with labour they will still not get a
majority they need the small parties on board , i cant see the small
parties wanting PR as its likely to **** them into oblivion .

If they allow any party that recieves a vote to enter parliament
without a lower cut off limit (say 5%) your going to have to allow
every nutter and his missus who decides to stand a platform for thier
    particular brand of bigotry .

Do we really want the likes of the muslim extremists , BNP , NF left
wing loonies possibly holding the balance of power

  10. Under PR no bugger wins , it will just be a talking shop and us poor
sods will end up paying for it .

The system does need changing though i just dont think PR is the way
    to go

This is a very subjective view you're putting across. The Tories got
36% of the votes. It would therefore be just as true, and equally
wrong, to say that the overwhelming majority of people don't want a
Tory government, and it would be wrong for them to form one.

It's not wrong to say that more people wanted a Tory government than
any other party. It's also not wrong to say that the majority who
didn't want a Tory government is smaller than the majority who didn't
want a Labour (or LD) government. It doesn't matter whether you use the
numbers who voted for or the numbers who voted against, the Tories have
a greater mandate to form a government than Labour.

  15. Its also equally true that the overwhelming (larger) majority of
voters dont want a labour or liberal government either

If we followed this to its conclusion cameron would be leader of a
    conservative labour coalition

  16. Well in a fair democratic society which the supporters of PR want
every party that gains a vote should be able to represent there
    supporters

Or are you saying that you want PR so that the lib dems get to air
thier political points of view and represent thier supporters and
    **** the smaller parties

I think i understand , this is the LD idea of democracy , strange
when the boots on the other foot
