That'll be no1 son with his first bike then. He really lseems to get on with
the Aprilia. Been on the road (legally) since Friday evening and he's done
about 180-200 miles so far on a good mix of Wiltshire roads. Only 2 calls
for help so far. Pulled the nipple off the clutch cable in Chippenham (quick
trip with solderless nipple) and got a bit stuck in 4th gear in Bath (sorted
it himself as I was a little pissed to drive).
Had a little session this morning adjusting the new chain and checking
levels etc. He's getting the hang of this maintenance lark now. The plan for
next Weds is Avebury. Gawd help us.
Him and his 'herbert' mates are all planning a French Trip for the summer.
Me I'm *not* available for recovery duties. They'd all better have sorted
out some RAC/AA etc as I'll be bolloxed if I'm driving to France to collect
some scrote who's seized a bloody scoot. It *will* end in tears.
I don't know whether to be proud or anxious. Both I think.

Small bikes and teenagers rock mightily.

I had some superb laughs with my boy and his mates when they had
    mopeds, and 125'S.

Lozzo now owns 2 of the 'peds, I am sure you've seen the photos of them
    in his Micra.

We did a BOTAFOT with mopeds, my boy on his TS50 and another chaps
[1]daughter on her Gilera DNA. Pic here:

Didn't know the Provos did issue *that* kind of license.

You ever tried stopping a teenager doing what they want to do? I know they
won't get there. *You* also know this. Are they 'bovvered'? Nope.
Live and learn m'boy. He'll find out in due course. Bloody long way to Dover
on a 50 too, especially as you'll get sent straight home :>)

  6. Heh. Decades ago, Little Bruvver and some friends went for a week, on
half a dozen bicycles and one sit-up-and-beg moped.

Nobody actually seemed to worry about licence requirements, so they got
it over there and back again.

I went foreign (Donegal, actually) on the CB175 with the L plates tucked
    under the seat.

Chrsit, what a breath of fresh air - someone prepared to let their
teenage kids figure things out for themselves.

    Well done.

Where's the fun in *not* ignoring your parents?
