So today I took SWMBO's CB250N Nighthawk for MoT. It was still a bit
hesitant at low revs at first, but it was on reserve, so I treated it to
a gallon of super unleaded and it quickly improved. Once warm I revved
the tits off it a bit. TBF I had forgotten just how gutless it is so
that was part of the problem, just wasn't revving it hard enough. Once
subjected to a 'dealer's decoke' it became as sweet as a nut (well for a
Honda twin). As buzzy near the red line as I remembered though.
Surprisingly competent for squirting round town and would make someone
    an ideal winter hack.

On arrival at my MoT test station of choice they remarked what a tidy
bike it was for its age. Sailed through the MoT - just a squidge of WD40
needed on a slightly sticky front brake lever.

The gaffer (who recognises me these days even if not on one of my exotic
fleet) saw me eying up one of their stock (they do Hyosung, 'AJS' other
Chinese Honda copy new bikes, and a range of high miler other stuff)
while I was acting like an expectant father, pacing up and down the
showroom (which has an MoT bay viewing window). A VFR400 in very
original state and Repsol colours. 46000 on the clock. Just £2199 to you
sir. I happened to remark that the CB250 had to go. "What do you want
for it?" "Dunno", said I and I really mustn't buy another bike or that
defeats the whole object of getting it MoT'd to sell in the first place.
"Come back with the paperwork and I'll give you £300 cash today."

So now I know what to set the Ebay reserve at. Except that SWMBO was
gardening at the front of the house as I whizzed back up the road and on
to the drive. "Let me just see if I can remember how to ride it - just
    up the drive", she said.

Naturally, now she is having second thoughts about selling it. Which is
a bit annoying because I really need room in the garage to work on team
'Dad and Lad' YZ hill climb bikes in comfort over the winter.

Ho, hum, well I'm going to set up the auction but not actually list it
anyway and try and talk her round. Wrong time to sell a bike, but if I
don't put it on soon it won't even be the right time for selling a
    winter hack.

Nuts, I've listed it anyway, so she's got 10 days cooling off period.
Perhaps when she sees what it is going for she might think of all the
cycling and hill walking gear, or even a guitar she could buy with the
    proceeds.

Oh and I've included the classic types in this post. Well it is nearly
    18 years old ;-)
