Saw a bike on its side on the A414 just south west of the Hatfield Tunnel
    tonight.
Police were in attendance and had closed off the outer lanes.
No sign of the rider or ambulance.
Does anyone know if the rider is OK; & what happened?
    Hope they're OK.

I wasn't there, and I didn't see it, but I suspect the rider came off
the bike, that's bound to smart a little.

    HTH.

Jeez, you'd have thought they'd have put a Gatso there by now then, it's
obviously an accident black spot innit...

The rider skidded on a lickle fluffy kitten and hit a bus full of
schoolchildren, which burst into flames killing all on board.

He then careened into a car carrying a doctor who had just thought of
the cure for cancer, killing him instantly. Then he bounced off a tree
and died. The tree had to be cut down.

    Feel better now?

Unless, there was/is a Gatso there and the rider somehow collided? :-/

    Ooooh, bet that was exciting.
Wow! blue flashing lights and everything?
Awww, so you didn't get to gawp then?
Someone does, but ITYF that no-one on here wants to know about it.
If you read the other posts like this one, you'd learn that.

To others: should this be in the FAQ?

Indeed, because despite the lack of intelligence it requires to work out
that (a) we know bikes crash and (b) we don't personally know every biker in
the UK it still seems to fox an alarming number of newbies.

'Course, if it was in the FAQ we could get _really_ uppity about it.

It's OK, fortunately it was a Leylandii. Otherwise it would have been
    terrible.

    I don't know, I think it serves a purpose.

You see, in 2003 a given number of bikers will bin it and die horribly.
Every time I hear about one, I can say "Thank **** for that, that's
    *another* one that wasn't me".

It's practically a public service when you look at it that way.
