    I've spoken to Jude...

the tale is that he braked too hard going into a corner and high sided
over the bars and landed on his back on a crash barrier.

he is currently in intensive care with the following injuries:

    2 broken vertebrae
most ribs broken down one side
    broken sternum
    liver hematoma.

assuming the liver is ok tomorrow and he stops bleeding from his ribs
he is going into surgery to pin his discs.

assuming all goes well the hospital have said he could be home in a
    couple of weeks.

he & jude spent some time this afternoon discussing the merits of a
proper back protector versus the foam one he had in his leathers.

oh and he reckons the bike isn't a complete write off but there's
    plenty of broken plastic.

I've said i'll ring again over the weekend to find out how he's
    getting on.

At least Bruce doesn't come the **** and claim "diesel did it to me"
or "a missing driver performed a U turn in the fast lane of a
    motorway."
That's a lot of nasty injuries. At least he's got access to decent
    drugs.

    He'll get over it.

As I said, he needs a book on how to ride. I bet that hurt.
Isn't the liver always a dodgy area? That's the worst part to fix,
    innit?
    At least there's an upside.
Heh, I can imagine. At least he's talking.
Good on that man. Get's his priorities right.

He could become a guinea pig for Roche.

"Mr Rogers, try this pink pill, followed by the blue and then the red.
We don't know if they'll work, but we want to see what colour you turn."
