When I got my license (shortly after the invention of the internal
combustion engine), one of the choices for entering a school zone was
"speed up, honk your horn, and wave at the children."

  6. "I never mentioned New York? That's so demonstrably false I'm still
laughing. Anytime I speak in anything resembling a specific, I make it
clear that I'm referring to NY statutes. I've never claimed to know the
details of criminal statutes in other jurisdictions."

  7. #3 Before you change lanes, you should:
It's "obviously" all of the above, and you should look in the opposite
direction of the merge. I saw this behaviour happen today, and almost
rammed the side of the stupid minivan driver.

Traffic was entering an acceleration lane ahead, and a minivan and
another car were on the lane. There was a huge gap behind me. The
second driver stopped and waited for me to pass, but the minivan driver
didn't seem to understand that Yield means Stop. It pulled out anyway,
and at a speed 40 less than mine, and then refused to accelerate.

To avoid hitting the minivan, I started to pass in the centre lane.
There was nobody in front of the minivan. I was about 20 m from the
rear of the minivan, passing at +40, when the minivan driver started
drifting slowly into the centre lane, flicked on its turn-signal, slowed
down in front of me, and may have wrongly-assumed that I was going to
stop. I leaned on the horn and accelerated to clear the impact point.
The minivan driver seemed confused, but eventually pulled back into the
    proper lane.

After I moved back over and resumed my original speed of 110, the
minivan driver moved into the centre lane and accelerated to pass me.
Why did it take almost being rammed to wake up and realise that a driver
must accelerate to the speed of traffic before entering the roadway and
    before entering a passing lane?

  8. #5 Which of the following could best contribute to improved traffic flow?
Increase the traffic speeds, then reduce traffic volume by eliminating
common daily travel, and then eliminate the excess space between cars by
using computer controls while also increasing speeds and optimising lane
    usage.

The best method for increasing the efficiency of the traffic flow is to
eliminate lane-blockers. If you're in the passing lane, you'd better be
    passing somebody.

I don't see the connection between Deadrat's reply and your
    expression of obsession with Larry.
Would you be so kind as to elaborate on just why you were
compelled to show us why you have such an unhealthy obsession with
    Larry? Thanks.

The English California is pretty good for Harleys,
being at the end of Nine Mile Ride, with no unpleasant bends.

Do you propose that the town of California in the United Kingdom
of Great Britain and Ireland has its own driving test?

Since Larry doesn't live in Iowa, and I don't think Deadrat does
either, could you explain why you're attempting, and failing, to
distract from the truth that you're obsessed with Larry?
Then please explain why you were compelled to show us why you have
such an unhealthy obsession with Larry.
Pointing out, once again, that I've beaten you, while nice, won't
    address the questions raised.

The same thing has happened to me.
Sort of upsetting as it indicates that it might happen on an important
    or sensitive topic.
I just chalk it up to electronic problems instead of insulting the
    innocent "sender."

Funny enough, you may not even get to read this reply as there are too
many groups listed and I must omit some

There is a section of West Birmingham (England) that has a lot of
California names. I remember being surprised to see a sign directing
    me to Hollywood.

whilst you're joking, you have of course also been to Botany Bay in
Enfield, which is named after the place in convictland.
