Air Ambulance Charity Rideout in Cumbria

  1. This is a long one so please bear with me....

Due to the recent events in the Far East and the flooding in Carlisle public
donations for the Cumbria Air ambulance have dried up and at the moment it
is not able to take to the air as they are funded solely from donations and
receive no funding from local government.

At our pub we had a collection box for them until some w@nker stole it

This is a very important service that needs to be put back into the air. It
has saved countless lives due to it's ability to get to accidents quicker
than land based ambulances. Help is needed even more so as the
Northumberland Air Ambulance has also been grounded for the same reason.

Darren Cartwright from Carlisle is organising a ride out to raise funds to
    get it flying again.

On Sunday 29th May there is a ride out organised that is travelling from
Carlisle over the Hartside summit and down to Kirkby Lonsdale where there
will be trade stands and refreshments. The total ride out distance is approx
    78 miles.

Meeting up at the Hein Gericke shop in Carlisle at 9am. He is hoping to get
at least 3000 bikes turn up.
He arranged a similar event in Essex and got 16,000 bikes

The cost to join the ride out is £5.00 per bike

If you want more details call Darren Cartwright on 07862 156126, The Air
    Ambulance on 01539 730999 or 01325 487263

Please support this very worth cause and have a ride on some of the most
    fantastic roads in the country.

If anyone want to meet up at my pub, it's the Gloucester Arms, Great
    Dockray, Penrith, Cumbria. CA11 7DE
We will be leaving the pub at 8am(ish) on the Sunday.

    Cheers!

    Martin
