My POS[1] GN has one of the foam type air filters. It's probably due a clean so I'l be doing that as soon as I can be arsed. The BOL recommends washing it in white spirit, drying, soaking in oil then squeezing out the excess. I've done it once before but it was a fucking messy business. The hydrocarbons involved seemed to get everywhere. Anyone got any ideas/tips on doing this? I thought maybe I could wash it with water and detergent and leave it to dry _thoroughly_. Then maybe put it in a placcy bag with the oil and squidge it around a bit. That wont help with the particularly messy 'squeezing out the excess' bit mind. [1] It's really beginning to grate just how bastard slow this thing is. New kitchen may have to drop down to second on the major purchases list.
