You know how here in Vic we are allowed to park our bikes just about
anywhere ( as long as not obstructing anything), and safe etc.. Well... what
about parking at the airport ?

Like if I have to fly up to Syd and back the same day...Is there a place I
can safely park the bike, as well as it being legit etc..??? Obviously I
could just park in the short term parking...but not sure what the go it with
payment etc. either... like do we bikers have to pay same as for a car ??

  2. Assuming you mean Tullamarine, it's private property and so is the car
parking. I suspect you have to occupy a car slot and pay for one.
    Council regs don't apply.

Short term parking is free for bikes and there are places for them.
Not sure about long term though sorry.

Ah great...so what about needing a ticket to exit through the boom gates
    though ?

There are a couple of places where the bikes park up on the kerbs on the
ground floor parking at tulla. never parked there myself but there are
always bike there so you will see them when you get there. Take a
ticket when you arrive and then find out how to get out without paying
when you leave, but keep the ticket in your pocket just in case I guess.
I've never been there on my bike so never looked for the cheap exits.

Just like the song says "Buffalo girls go round the outside, round the
    outside, round the outside"

  7. From the Melbourne Airport web site:

" Motor & push bike parking
    Airport parking for motorcycles

Motorbike riders are allocated a designated area within the short term
    car park.

Motorcycles are not permitted to park on any footpaths, walkways or
entry/exit doors. Motorcycles that are parked illegally will receive an
infringement notice and may be towed. If you are unsure of where to park
upon your arrival, please speak to a car park attendant, who will point
you in the right direction. "

In other words, you take a ticket on the way in, you park in the
designated motorcycle parking area within the short term car park, and
you pay for your ticket on the way out (even if you parked there for a
few days). You probably can't sneak out round the boom gate because the
usual standard these days is to place a post at the free end of the boom
    so you can't.

It sounds as if they don't energetically deal with motorcyclists who
cheat but I don't know that I'd be relying on that. Other privatised
    airports aren't so lenient.

Yeah I wouldn't be doing any "sneaking out" if there is an actual charge
anyway...plus I'm sure they have surveillance cameras..
