If you have 15 minutes to spare then is a video
stream of some bloke's travel pics from the Alps & Pyrennes. The Spanish
pictures especially cheered me up, taken in October with lovely blue skies
and little snow around. It looked a lot colder in the Alps: I thought I
recognised the Passo Rombo but didn't recall the name. Turns out it is the
Italian name for the Timmelsjoch which I'd forgotten, despite traversing it
    twice.

Loud music track which may not suit all tastes. Ffwd to 9.50 for the sunny
Spain shots, but you'll miss some great shots of Alpine roads. Very few
    non-scenery pics.

Mr Corfield had better have the anti-vertigo pills to hand.

The pics look great, which means IRL it must be at least 10x better.

  3. True on all counts. How the hell did he keep the bike so clean?

Stops every 10 minutes to get the Mr Sheen out & take a photo. I've seen
dozens doing this on the tops of passes etc.

The hotel the Alpinestars used in Austria had a jetwash. A euro a pop. It
did a roaring trade. Sad, stupid fuckers.

I carry a camping bucket and little bottles of degreaser and shampoo.

  7. Well true for some of the shots - definitely rather stomach churning.
However the photos are excellent and much of the scenery is truly
stunning. The autumnal colours on the trees were delightful. I have to
admit to being ever so slightly tempted.

Must be nice to have your own personal photographer on such a trip!

I wonder if blinkers like they use on a horse would work? :)

    and the supplement:

someone has just posted a link to Google Maps that has "every" Alpine pass
    marked

    http://snipurl.com/alpine_passes [google maps]

    now, there's a challenge...

FRO the pair of you. When a bike's filthy one day into a fortnight's
    holiday it needs washing. Period.

And what are the chances of that? Just admit it, you're a big girl's
blouse and that lovely wife of yours deserves far, far better.

When I'm away from home I wait until it rains, then let nature do its
bit. The Versys got washed when I took it in for a service the weekend
after I returned from Malta. Steve the mechanic refused to work on a
    bike that was so minging.

I piss on it once a year, then wipe it down with one of the other lot's
colours that I took from their cold dead body.
