Well, not quite the ones I ordered, but hey, it's cold & wet & I don't
have to wear three sandwich bags & a plasic carrier bag to stop my
feet getting cold & wet on the bike anymore :) They're not great for
walking far in as I've got tiny feet & the boots don't bend that well
yet, but warm & dry feet makes me a happy biker again. I have no idea
why Altberg went from unhelpful & uncontactable, to helpful & actually
contacted me - but I'm not complaining!

So Platy - thanks for the offer of borrowing some boots, but I'm ok
    now, thanks tho :)

    "no wucking furries".

I've also seen it as "no wuckas". But it's usually antipodeans doing
it, not Ulstermen old enough to know better.

It's a bit of slang I use to irk darsy.

I'm irk-proof today, as apart from some ninnies upstairs, all my
clients are happy bunnies today, and also (and more importantly) I'm
being taken out for lunch and mucho champagne in a Conran restaurant
    in 30 minutes.

Rub castor oil into the leather. It'll soften it without weakening it
any, give it a day or so to soak in.

Cheers, I've got some leather stuff soaking into them now so hopefully
they'll soften up soon. So nice to have warm feet, 'specially as it
    was bloody freezing today!

After an initial glass or 5 of Bolli, I had a pressed game terrine to
start with, followed by a roast lamb/haggis combo with "champ"[1],
with cheeseboard to follow, all washed down with a very agreeable
merlot[2], and 4 rounds of espresso + cognac at the end. Lovely.

[1] it wasn't: it was mashed potato with chives
[2] a south efrikan variety - not bad at all, though personally I
would have expected slightly better at £42/bottle.

I'm glad to see that standards are being maintained.
