Come now, I did it last time I was out with the clique. Only cost
    me 60 quid.

  3. Sixty quid? SIXTY QUID!! That's more than I've paid for many
    motorcycles.

Doing it return, near enough door to door, by public transport (no nasty
buses either) will be about £8 and about 55 minutes each way - including
    walking to/from your house.

  5. Eight pounds? EIGHT POUNDS! That's more than my bike gloves cost!

You could walk it in a couple of hours but I'm not sure how to quantify
    shoe leather.

The use of "long term" - I would agree the word I used perhaps wasn't quite
    the right one.

    <snip aaaaargggh!>

And you have demonstrated precisely the reason no sensible person
travels by bus unless there is no conceivable alternative - and thus
why sensible people don't live in Sth London.

If you're doing a route you don't know really well you end up
evaluating a number of options that would make Kasparov wince. And woe
betide you if you have to change at Hammersmith because you're
guaranteed to end up going in the wrong direction.

To avoid this the sensible reveller gets sufficiently wasted to be able
to take the Tube when it opens the next morning :)

Although I hadn't in this instance. I only tend to post details of
short-term contract positions on here[1], not permanent ones.
d'you think? Bear in mind I haven't had a trademark "funny beard" for
years, and wear a suit to work most days...

[1] though I've decided not to bother any more, as I've never had any
    info from here.

Remember to take more than 10 shillings with you as beer is quite
expensive in the big City :)

    somewhere like Dragon[1].
