We have a van which brings the bacon sandwiches to us. It turns up every
morning at about 10am, parks outside our building and hoots the horn.

I think it's some kind of Pavlovs nerds type experiment.

Oh, we get one of those too. It's not asgood though as the bacon isn't
cooked to order. It's pre-cooked and kept in a heated container.
    heh

There's a van in a layby off the A507 at Arlesey (nods to WUN) that has
the most extensive menu* I've ever seen in a mobile - and the food
    utterly rocks.

    * Including such exotica as choices of black, white or red pudding,
venison steaks and sausages, buffalo and ostrich products, four
different 'ordinary' sausages, four varieties of bacon (ffs!) infinite
combinations of 'breakfast in a roll' ingredients, a host of veggie
gear and twenty-odd types of tea (with free refills).

Indeed, when I was in the army we called them "roach coaches" they
roamed all over the post, independant contractor. Made good money iirc.

Oh that sounds like an excuse for a road trip if I ever heard one.
Well...food is THE BEST excuse to travel I've found yet. Then again I
    can't stand the tourist stuff.

a bit late to this thread, but I was just considering earlier today
that, having lived where I do now for nearly 4 years, and given the
fact that well - it's me! - that I've never been in the Majestic wine
merchants 2 minutes walk up the road. Though I see that recently
they've reduced their minimum purchase requirements to 6 mixed
bottles, so I may have to give them a go.

Agreed, know some brothers in West Seattle that run a decent shop. Not
exactly the same as you gentlemen have (don't worry I was grounded
when I typed that). But rather good in my uninformed opinion. 8^)

Mmm there is or was a *great* one near Notting Hill tube.

Had a gorgeous daughter but was murderously protective of her. Rather
    typical really.

Goodness me that's some list. I can't think of a cafe that offers that
    sort of choice.

Is this van very popular with passing motorists / truck drivers?
