An interesting day

Today was interesting. It got off to an unusual start with me trying to
help the person in charge of one of the only 10 Formule 1 hotels in the
UK get their computer system back up. Despite an 'if in doubt kick the
plug out' total reboot we failed - looked like a modem hardware failure
preventing connection with the Accor Hotels mother ship.

Then a Russian guy who had spent the night there, having driven from the
mother country in a pretty old Ford Escort, asked my help in getting
directions to his destination. A message on his mobile gave a location
which by virtue of my newly acquired 'Tom Tom' I was able to home in on
for him very quickly and point him in right direction. Good Luck Nikolai
    - hope you didn't slip some Polonium in my Cappucino.

Then the first Voxan dealer launch at Phantom Motorcycles Barton upon
Humber. First UK spec Voxan Black Magic to scrutinise (no tricolor on
badge for example). Privileged to be allowed a CIHAGM on the importer's
personal Street Scrambler. Surprisingly different to the Roadster. Not
de-restricted (yet), just a full power (100) rather than 85BHP version.
The bigger throttle bodies did suggest more to be released easily via
the power commander route. Very comfy riding position and better seat.
Big bars to boss it round the hill climb hairpins. Better spec forks and
rear unit. As it had done less than 200 miles I respected the running in
revs and it was on higher gearing than the Roadster, but it showed
promise. Plans are forming in my mind for the spring.

Lad kept entertained by videos of Pahnd Island and 'the Ring', so a v.
    pleasant day all round.
