An interesting morning. Two-tyre blowout on the M25 at around 70mph!

I've had a front wheel re-trued by Motoliner, but those look too badly
dinged. Replacement seems the only answer. And as it's ABS, my
estimate is £1500 now. Insurance claim time.

Keep the salvage, bin the ABS (1) and fit these: http://tinyurl.com/yd6p7ok
    ;-)

    (1) No, really - not sure how it's all plumbed in on these, but I
doubt non-ABS master cylinders etc are that dear from a breakers etc.

  7. Buy another V-Strom, take the parts you want off it (which are actually
unlikely to be in the want) and break the rest of the bike for spares on
    eBay.

Chances are you'll turn a profit.

  8. Expensive, are they? Only I managed to score a decent used back wheel
for my SS on eBay for something like £25. I never needed it, and it hung
around the garage for a couple of years.

So I offered it FOC to Ant for his racing, but he didn't need it either,
so in the end I put in back on eBay and flogged it for about the same
    amount.

  14. Tja, well done on riding that out. Did time slow down or speed
up? When my chain broke on the Autobahn at 80 mpg, caught the clip in the
sprocket, and the flailing end got trapped under the rear wheel so that I
was sliding along on the chain, it all seemed over in about two seconds.
Other incidents seem to have stretched into minutes.

Since all the skinnys say the same; "I just can't get up to my ideal
weight". The bmi must be skulking on a VERY thin line between the two
    extremes!

I don't suppose one of the M25 cameras caught who dropped the item onto
the tarmac? No, I bet not, it's too much to hope for.

Like others have said, well done keeping it all together.
