You obviously know something I don't Simon, but if you can point me to
somewhere I can buy a set of metric AF spanners, I'd appreciate it because
I've never seen any and I want some. I'm a horder of tools, new and old and
a set of AF metrics would almost complete my collection.

Metric heads are measured across the flats so you probably already have
    metric across the flats spanners.

    Popular sizes are 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 17mm, 19mm, 22mm and 24mm.
There are some unpopular sizes that have no friends but we don't talk
    about them.

  13. Ah, I see. That wasn't obvious from the diagram I saw. it
looked more like there was a threaded piece extending up along a
normal pop-rivet with a shaft that breaks off as normal. Hence I
was having trouble with the concept of re-tightening them.

You boys have lived very sheltered lives, for a pair of
    keyboard-warrioring geeks.

I got very confused, because I thought she was talking about Eminem's
'Dirty Dozen' until I'd followed the link. Not all "keyboard-warrioring
geeks" are into that D&D-related nonsense, you know.

I am not sure I am lurking- but Mr Motad is just trying to understand
what the question is relating to this thread

    Which collector are you discussing?

.. and the main (only) disadvantage is that the captive nuts rust and
fail, causing the the problem I have here when attempting to remove
    and
    refit.

Other than that, it's been fine these past seven years.

The whole system is around 40% of the cost of an OEM system, so don't
think I'm suggesting it's poor value for money. Far from it.
