All my road bikes are now fully MOTd, taxed and insured now. The SV
flew through its MOT this morning.

It's a real hoot to ride too.

I'm surprised to hear that, given all the negative comments the SV (in all
its forms) has received on here.

I tend to make my own judgements. SVs are great little bikes, which is
why there's a very active race series for them.

  4. I was surprised today to find out that I can nearly get flat footed when
astride one, so I am going to have to come up with another reason for
not wanting to own such a butt ugly piece of shit.

1st gen SVs with tubular frames are much prettier than the newfangled
    ones with die-cast frames.

Blondie has one, an S, very nice alround bike it is too. I can't really
fault it for what it is.

Good choice for a first bigger bike. Does she have to be restricted to
    33bhp for 2 years?

  15. Now that *is* interesting. Where did you hear that from? Incidentally,
as I haven't ridden either variant, is it true that the die-cast frame
passes more vibration through than the original version?

I think the SV is a fabulous concept (perhaps because it's so much in
the mould of my Ducati). A really simple, small, basic bike powered by a
    basic engine.

I still think the early ones look better, mind...

  16. Agree 100%.

In theory it shouldn't be, but it is.

Well, some bikes still seem to reach silly prices (dunno if you looked
at that GS I SMSd you yesterday) but I'm watching a couple of the 'why
is nobody bidding on them' category.

The newfound space in the garage won't last very long at this rate.

  18. Yes, I was watching that time out. £1600, forsooth.

Indeed. 1200 would've been a lot closer to the mark IMHO.

The Older Gentleman banged the rocks together and they said :
Bike sales are seasonal though, and as we've gone
winter->damper->soaker->autumn there's only been a handful of FWB sunny
days to tempt them into dealers.

I bet the shops hate just-post-DAS people coming in and asking for a
test ride on a 10R when its pissing down outside too.
